Biography

Mazdak Mirabedini was born in Tehran in 1976. After going to Math School and Music School in Iran, he traveled to the United States and began studying cinema as well as making short films. He graduates from film school, UC Santa Barbara, class of 2005.

Going back to his home country, Mirabedini directed a 58 – minute movie called Cabby, followed by his first feature, Red Book (Iran, 77 min, 2007). He was the lead actor, wrote the script, and did the editing in both movies.  Butterfly In Sleep is his second feature film.
